EPG’s recommendations will benefit both nations: Koshyari

July 1: A day after the Eminent Persons Group (EPG) concluded its common report on the 1950 treaty, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, coordinator of the Indian side met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Ishwor Pokhrel at the latter’s house in Dhapasi.

In the meeting, the two dwelt on current political condition of Nepal, the government’s plans and programs and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit while praising strong relationship between the two countries.

Koshyari said that with the common report, friendship of Nepal and India would climb newer heights and expressed belief of more harmonious relationships. He added that the report had meticulously dwelt on issues to ensure that it didn’t affect future relationship.

In turn, Pokhrel thanked the EPG for its contribution and expressed commitment to implement the recommendations with utmost honesty.  He also urged Koshyari to ensure effective implementation of the recommendations. myrepublica
